Who We Are

Foundation Family Mediation was founded by Lynn Keimel on the belief that family disputes can be resolved with dignity, respect, and a focus on the future.

Mediation offers an alternative to litigation—one that prioritizes communication, cooperation, and practical solutions tailored to your family’s unique needs.

Our mission to help separating couples move forward in a timely and cost-effective manner, while avoiding unnecessary legal expenses.   We promote understanding and compromise with the goal of achieving fair, balanced, and lasting resolutions.

About Us

With over 30 years of experience as a Family Law Clerk working on complex and high-conflict matters, Lynn brings a depth of knowledge and practical insight into the realities of separation and family litigation. She has seen firsthand the significant emotional and financial impact that adversarial court proceedings can have on families, particularly where children are involved. This experience has shaped her commitment to offering mediation as a more effective, respectful, and forward-focused alternative.

In 2021, Lynn completed the Family Mediation Certificate program at York University and subsequently obtained her accreditation through the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. She combines her extensive legal background with formal mediation training to guide clients through complex issues with clarity, structure, and discretion.

Lynn’s practice is particularly well-suited to high-conflict and legally complex separations, where her steady, pragmatic approach helps clients move beyond entrenched positions toward durable, well-considered resolutions. She is committed to delivering a professional, efficient process that minimizes unnecessary cost, reduces conflict, and supports outcomes that are both practical and sustainable.

Aside from Lynn's private practice, she also is a Roster Family Mediator at the Newmarket and Orangeville Court.
